I love animals because they give back what you put into them. In other words if you put a lot of time and effort into animals you’ll get a lot of love and pleasure out of them. I think that animals like to spend time with you as much as you like to spend time with them.

My favorite animal is a horse because you can do so much with them. I have been taking riding lessons for several years. Just this year I joined a horse riding club. When you are riding a horse you can compete or do it just for fun.

My horseback riding teacher, Tammy Mitchelson, said, “I love everything about horses and it’s a great sport. I enjoy animals and horses because they are my passion. I enjoy teaching people and training horses. With horseback riding you can always get better.”

I started riding horses because my grandma has a horse. So when I came every summer I would enjoy getting led around. As I got older I started riding her horse by myself. This made me want to take lessons and get even better.

My friend Cary McQueen from school, who also enjoys riding, said, “I started riding horses because my sister and I travel to Europe every summer. A lot of people ride there and when I saw them riding I got inspired to ride and now I love horse riding.”

Cary also said horseback riding is her favorite sport because “I can take responsibility for my own horse. Competing makes me happy no matter if I win or lose. I like competing because other people rise at what they do and it is a good chance to practice.”
