As the robotics team braces itself for the upcoming competition season, there is a calm before the storm. After placing second at state, they have had some time to work on organizing their workshop, practicing approaches to problems, and training newer members.
The calm isn’t here to stay though. It will be ramping up soon. In January, the team begins its new season and receives a new problem that they will design a robot to solve. After that, it is crunch time, with only around six weeks to design and build a robot that will perform the required tasks.
Senior Olek Piechaczek is excited about the challenge though. With a team full of experienced members, he believes they are ready for the problem which involves a video game theme.
For anyone interested in joining in on the excitement, Olek says, “We are always looking for new members and you really don’t need to know anything about robotics. It is also a good club for anyone interested in graphic design or video editing which helps the robotics team create its cool T-shirts and videos.”
It will be exciting to keep up with the robotics team which is sure to have an interesting season ahead of them.
