The Tempe Prep varsity baseball team has started off the season on fire. The team has gone 2-0 thus far in the regular season and 5-1 when including tournament games, their only loss coming in a hard fought game against Sedona Red Rock.
Their wins have been convincing: 6-1 versus Bourgade Catholic, 13-3 versus Glendale Prep, 7-1 versus Northland Prep, 12-5 versus Scottsdale Prep, and a monstrous 16-1 win versus Valley Lutheran on Thursday.
One of the team’s main factors of success has been a balanced team filled with experience and developing talent. Another main factor for the team’s success has been its ability to take on adversity.
“You don’t know why things happen the way they do. But you can’t make the best of it until you find your inner pirate,” says senior Max Rich when speaking on adversity during the season.
The team’s skill, balance, and coping methods have allowed them to start off the season on a high note. Let’s hope this balance allows them to keep their stellar record as the season progresses.
