Work Works. Some of you may have heard this phrase at sports practices or around campus, but what exactly does it mean? It means that no matter what, as long as you put in the work and give it your all you will reach your goals. This is not just some saying, it is a fact. Something that you can live by and rely on.
TPA Alum Camille Zimmerman is living proof of that. Camille started playing basketball for TPA in middle school. She was not just naturally a star at basketball though, she gained all of her skills and great basketball qualities from years and years of work. Those hours and hours of work turned her into a basketball star.
When she moved on to high school basketball she was even better, and coached by our very own Nancy Calahan. She led the Lady Knights to become the state champions in her sophomore year and runner-up in her junior year.
Her talents did not stop there. After she graduated from Tempe Prep she got a full-ride scholarship to play for Columbia University, a prestine ivy-league college.
Not only was she amazing at basketball but she was very smart off the court as well. Playing for Columbia, she broke multiple records and finished as top all-time scorer and rebounder of Columbia University.
Her dreams of playing in the WNBA are coming true as “she has signed a professional contract with the Minnesota Lynx,” according to Columbian Athletics, and plans to join their summer training camp to improve even more. Camille is a very hard worker and her story shows that Work does Work.
