First ever TPA community picnic turned out to be a blast

“We’re looking forward to a bigger and better year,” said Lara Kristof when asked what the TPA picnic would look like next year. Ms. Kristof, along with Jennifer Sayer and Lisa Risch, were the three co-planners of the picnic.

Face painting was a hit.

If you didn’t attend, you really missed out. Parent volunteers served sandwiches, hotdogs, cold beverages, and ice cream treats. The students faced the teachers and parents in the giant dodgeball game, and the students graciously let the adults win, so they’d feel better about themselves. The choir performed two of their songs, and even made up a fancy ending to the last one.

What’s even better though, was the face painting station. Amazing artists such as Sama Allam and Natalie Whitmer painted fantastic works of art on many faces. From beautiful music notes for Mrs. Wilkison, to a pretty pink princess for Mr. Weiss.

Student volunteers also helped run multiple fun carnival games, including bear toss, ring toss, and guess what!? Even bottle toss.

At the end of the picnic, a couple of boys (who shall remain unnamed), put dry ice in water bottles, which caused a buildup of CO2 gas. This subsequent reaction resulted in the bottle exploding, with a loud bang. The picnic was truly a blast.
