Your feet are up against the starting blocks and you are surrounded by people with the same goal as you: Get to the finish line first. The gun is sounded and you push yourself from the blocks, propelling yourself as quickly as you can to the finish. All this happening in a matter of seconds. And although these races and other events may go by quick, a lot of effort is put into this sport to win.
The track and field season has started and all that hard work is being put in during practices. The team is still waiting for the season to kick into gear, but they are making sure they will be ready. With one scrimmage under their belt, the season could not come any quicker.
The team is going into the season with high hopes. With returning outstanding performers and plenty of new faces, the athletes plan to improve their results from last year. Senior Mitchell Rines says, “I have been playing track for seven years, and this is the most excited I have been for a season.”
The expectations are set high, and the team is prepared to jump over the bar. Be sure to cheer on your fellow Knights as they propel themselves to the finish line throughout the season.
