Alan Ashley Pitt once said, “The man who follows the crowd will usually get no further than the crowd. The man who walks alone is likely to find himself in places no one has ever been before.”

Lone Senior Alex Wait can attest to that: “Golf isn’t like other sports. It’s pretty individual, so I can work on my own form and technique most of the time. I’m always willing to help out. Even though our team is pretty young they are picking things up pretty fast,” he says.

Having spent six years and countless hours on the golf course, Alex Wait is again ready to look for a place at state, and a few rising younger players are also in the hunt. With new coaches Jay Becher and Curt Hudek training him to a new level, Alex is ready for top performance. He states, “I’m very impressed with the coaching, they really know what they’re doing.”

About his junior and sophomore teammates, he says, “This is [Junior] Jordan Ehmann’s third year and things are really looking up. The sophomores Bree (Van Dahm), Hannah (Matsumoto), and Brooke (Kirk) are constantly improving, along with the freshmen. I’m very excited to see where the season will take them.”
