Grueling practice after grueling practice, all for what? This past Friday and Saturday TPA’s high school track and field team competed in the State meet.
The Lady Knights track team was particularly talented this year and with this talent there came high expectations. The Lady Knights team did not disappoint. They took home second in the 4×100 and third in the 4×400. Other notable finishes include: Lauren Casey placing third in both the 100m and 200m, Morgan Cryder placing third in the 100m hurdles and second in the 300m hurdles, as well as Jatzia Felix and Chloe Darling placing top 10 in the Triple Jump and Shot Put respectively. The ladies, all together, put forward a top-5 team performance at the Division IV finals.
The boys team also put forward a valiant effort, placing top 15 in the 4×100 and 4×400. Additionally, Louis Ternyik placed 7th in the 110m hurdles and 4th in Javelin and both Hayden Sampson and Canon Kartchner placed top 25 in the 400m.
Louis Ternyik comments on the season saying, “We had a great team and were able to accomplish some great things. I’m really glad with how this season turned out.”
