Despite the fact that it’s way more difficult to travel now, some people were able to squeeze in a vacation during spring break. For example, junior Isabel Cornelius states that during spring break she visited her sister in Tucson. Her sister, Hannah Cornelius, is a former Tempe Preparatory Academy student. She now attends the University of Arizona.
When asked about what she was there for, Isabel responded, “My family and I were there to visit the Tucson Botanical Gardens and the Saguaro National Park.” Isabel also stated that she and her family were there for about three days.
When asked what she did while visiting the parks and gardens, Isabel responded, “While there, we mainly spent lots of quality time as a family, we explored the parks and gardens for hours, we made a lot of meals together, and we just hung out together. Both the park and the garden were really cloudy, so it had an awesome vibe to it.
“We also went on a hike to Star Mountain. The hike was wild because we saw many beautiful flowers and plants along the way. The weather was also wonderful while on the hike.”
When asked about her favorite part of her visit, Isabel stated, “My favorite part was definitely the Saguaro National Park. It was just so beautiful.”
Junior Allison Evdokimo also was able to squeeze in a quick vacation as well. According to Allison, she took a vacation to Pinetop. When asked about what she did on the trip, Allison responded, “It was all my mom’s idea. We have a cabin up there, and she told us that she wanted to go up there before it was too late. While there, it was snowing a lot, so we went sledding. However, due to COVID-19 we stayed inside the cabin most of the time.”
