After a long wait, TPA teachers finally have moved into their new offices in the Zelman Center. This was supposed to take place on Aug. 5, but due to fire regulations and supply chain issues, the move was delayed. Consequently, they had to wait until Jan. 3 to finally move in.
In addition to the new offices, the facility includes a lunchroom, access to the kitchen and a student tutoring area. The teachers were also able to choose their own desks based on seniority.
The faculty is excited about the upgrade and is enjoying their new space.
“It feels much more professional,” said Mrs. Calahan. Because the new teacher’s building looks more like an office, people are treating it more like an office: there are separate desks and quiet rooms, and everything is new and clean.
Another renovation to the school’s campus is the Athletic Performance Center, TPA’s first indoor weight facility. It was finished over the Jan. 15-16 weekend.
Some of the workout equipment includes medicine balls, dumbbells, four double half racks, eight weight lifting stations, a treadmill, resistance bands, and more.
Now that the center is complete, students will have access to training year round. The speed and strength training that students can now accomplish will help many students in their athletic careers. Through training, students will be able to “maximize their potential” and become successful.
The Tempe Prep community has looked forward to the day when the faculty offices and Athletic Performance Center would be finished. Now that the day has come, students and teachers are excited to have these new facilities at their disposal.
