Over Spring Break Tempe Prep seniors visited Washington, D.C. The seniors saw many historical sites while building close bonds with one another.
The trip lasted from March 3-8 and during its stay the class toured several places around the country’s capital. These included national memorials such as the Washington Monument, the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial in West Potomac Park and many other sites. The seniors also explored museums such as the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. Senior Maeve Jastrzebski says, “My favorite part was the Holocaust Museum. It was such a powerful experience. I would say that is one of the musts for anyone who goes to D.C.”
The seniors also visited historic Mount Vernon, George Washington’s home. One evening they also saw “Catch Me If You Can” at the Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater.
Overall the annual senior trip was a huge success with many memorable experiences. The trip is available for all seniors.
