2022 New Teachers

    New renovations, new students and new faculty are only a few things that have come along with the start of the school year. Of these new faculty and teachers, Mr. Karerakattil, Dr. Mitton, Mr. Heyer, Mr. Rustempasic, Mrs. Horn and Ms. McIntosh were welcomed into the TPA community.  

   Mr. Karerakattil will teach 11th-grade Physics I and 12th-grade Advanced Physics Mr. Karerakattil said in an email, “This is my first full time job as a teacher so I’m really interested in learning more about teaching.”

   Another new teacher is Dr. Mitton. This year, he will be teaching sixth, 10th and 11th grade music. He has been teaching for almost 10 years and is looking forward to doing fun performances and seeing how much his students will grow. He said in an email, “One of my favorite things about being a teacher is seeing students succeed.”

   Mr. Heyer will be teaching two classes of seventh-grade Pre-Algebra. He has taught math for four years and is currently teaching a Pre-Calculus class at ASU. He is also pursuing a Ph.D. at ASU in Mathematics Education.. 

   Additionally, Mr. Rustempasic, who teaches ninth -grade Humane Letters, graduated from TPA in 2016, and has now returned six years later as a teacher. Already, his students have had some fascinating discussions, and Mr. Rustempasic is looking forward to seeing how their ideas will develop.

   Finally, Ms. McIntosh is the new sixth-grade science and Homeroom teacher. As a returning alumna herself. Ms. McIntosh is looking forward to helping her students foster their creativity and sense of wonder. 

   New faculty means new opportunities, so many new faculty members means even more opportunities. TPA welcomes these new teachers and is looking forward to what they’ll bring to the student body and campus.
