Herstory organizes period product projects and initiatives for less-fortunate women

Continuing its advocacy for more accessible period products, not only on the TPA campus but in the entire community, the Herstory/Girl Up club is currently spearheading a drive to collect feminine hygiene products for women in need for the non-profit organization, Women4Women.

Period supplies should be easily accessible to all and  Herstory, one of the advocacy and inclusion clubs at TPA, has turned these concerns into action by its push for the installment of free pads and tampons in the girl’s bathrooms.

This year, Herstory is run by juniors Tamsin Hurlbut, Zoe Lenz and Haley Campos, and freshman Hazel Hurlbut, Jacob Harbisson and Emily Youngs. Herstory aims at gender equality and support for women at TPA and in the community and they are taking on more advocacy initiatives. You may have seen boxes around campus with colorful signs. Decorated by members of the club, these colorful boxes are a great way for Herstory to encourage students to donate supplies for women who are homeless or less fortunate. The aim of the Herstory drive is to support women in shelters who are experiencing homelessness or are less fortunate. This Friday at high school lunch, Herstory packed the period products from the drive.
