The annual Fall Forum, held on the ASU-Tempe campus on Nov. 17, gives classical language learners an opportunity to immerse themselves in Latin for a day.
Arizona Junior Classics League holds a day full of classics-based activities. Making your own Latin epigram, participating in a Latin scavenger hunt, playing certamen (Latin trivia) and even pretend-gladiator fighting with pool noodles are all events held at this classics celebration.
Julia Hannon, a junior, said that her favorite part was being able to “(help) out with the AZJCL service project. We made dog toys and put together enrichment treats.”
Tempe Prep students even get some bragging rights from placing in competitions held throughout the day. They placed 1st in certamen and 2nd in the scavenger hunt.
