One, two, three, go!
Tempe Prep had its first rock paper scissors contest this semester. The spirit committee was inspired by other schoolwide rock paper scissors competitions that were posted on social media.
Each day of the competition had a different grade competing for the title of TPA’s rock paper scissors champion. Each student in the competing grade was given a beaded necklace and, as they competed against each other, either collected more necklaces or lost one at a time. A student was out of the competition when they had no more necklaces.
Contestants were not allowed to compete against each other during class periods. All of the students had to battle during passing periods or lunch.
The contest kicked off with the senior class after a pep assembly.
The champions of each grade faced off in the finals in the auditorium during high school lunch. All the champions’ friends gathered around to watch how the game would unfold. After many playoff matches, TPA’s High School rock paper scissors champion is senior Lizzie Ross!
