On February 14th, the campus was extra quiet because both the sixth and seventh grades were off on fun field trips. While the seventh graders were at Biosphere 2, the sixth graders went to Out of Africa, a wildlife park in Camp Verde (which is about two hours north of Tempe).
When they first got there, everyone went on a cruise ride tour of the park. After that, the students were separated into groups and got to look around by themselves.
During that time, there were a couple of shows that the students watched. One of them was about a skunk called Ginger and the other was about a tiger named Equinox.
While they were on the tour, the sixth graders got to feed the giraffes and could even perform a “Giraffe’s Kiss”, by putting the food in their mouths and having the giraffes come kiss them.
Aidan Adams, one of the participants who went on the trip, said “It was not what I was expecting, but it was still fun and I enjoyed the cruise ride and liked seeing the skunk, reptiles, and lemurs.” Sasha Parker, another participant said, “I had a lot of fun there, and my favorite part was a show called Tiger Splash”.
