By Hayden Sampson,
Junior High football is an amazing experience for all of the athletes on the team. Many of the great high school players came from here. The season so far this year has gone great. They are 5-0 and are expected to continue rising. They are the only Tempe Prep Junior High football team to go 5-0, and most of this is due to the great coaching and the large amount of practicing the team receives.
Team member Ridley Diez De Medina says: “The season has gone great so far. We have been really physical and we are winning against some pretty good teams.” The team has learned some great aspects of pushing through adversity and has become closer as friends as well as teammates.
The Tempe Prep Knights have three or four 6th graders, a strong showing of 7th graders, and an even stronger group of 8th. The 8th graders are doing an amazingly good job of leading the younger ones to a great season.
Coach Kartchner says: “We are very proud of the level of effort of each player on the team this year. Veteran players are playing very well, and players new to the team are contributing heavily to our team’s success.” Good luck Knights!
