The girls soccer program has been working hard the past few years to become a stronger team and it is finally paying off. After a strong start to the 2017-18 season, the Knights are more confident than ever before going into the core of their schedule.
Led by seniors who bring high school soccer experience, several young players have filled important roles to drive the team’s success. Thanks to great team unity and aggressive play, the season ahead is going to be a fun one.
Senior captain Solange Steadman said the best part of the season has been “bonding with the girls on my team through wins and losses.” Through success and learning experiences, this squad has grown closer together to overcome their challenges.
A highlight of the season so far was the Knights’ annihilation of the Horizon Honors Eagles. While shutting out the Eagles, four different players on the team scored goals and senior Natalie Henderson put in two scores. The Knights outworked their opponents on the way to a truly dominant victory. Senior Rebekah Smaw said the Horizon game “boosted our confidence and made everyone play much harder in our games afterwards.”
The season has just begun, but it is already clear this season is going to be a good one. Make sure to go support our Knights as they work to win more games and make more progress. Great job and good luck Knights!
