You can learn a lot from walking in someone’s shoes, but what about their footsteps? Tempe Prep alum Taylor Shroll had the opportunity to walk the same path Jesus did on his way to crucifiction, that is, The Via Dolorosa.
Along with many other alumni, Taylor is studying abroad. She has seen and learned many new things. One of which she details: “The most interesting thing I have done was go to Jerusalem and hear the Muslim call to prayer. It’s an eerie yet beautiful sound, something I have never heard in my life.”
She travelled with many other students as well. Taylor says, “I’m studying in Florence at a villa with 50 other students. We learn theology, history, and Italian. My favorite moment would have to be the river cruise I took down the River Thames in London. There was live music, dancing, and really good food. We also got to go on top of the boat to see the sights lit up at night.”
Taylor ends with a word of advice to current Tempe Prep students. She urges, “If you are considering study abroad, absolutely do it. If you’re not considering it, well you should!”
