As we round the end of the school year, our extracurriculars come to an end. And though we are sad to see them go, we also can’t wait to start them again next year.

Both middle school and high school Robotics had an exciting year. While middle school Robotics focuses more on the coding angle of engineering and acts as an intro to high school robotics, they still had a good time. This year they had a lot more younger kids who were eager to learn and gain responsibility. This also allowed for some of the older students to help and teach them.

As 8th grader Naomi Palmer put it, being on Robotics gave her “better leadership skills and opportunities to work together.” Though they did not fulfill all of their goals for the years, she is still happy with their season as a whole. They plan to learn from their mistakes this year and improve on them. They intend to get their design into action faster so they have more time for testing.

High school Robotics similarly set and fulfilled some of their goals. Even though they didn’t place as high as they would have liked to in competition, they know what to improve on. They hope to make their robots less dependent on the arena materials.

Senior member Spencer Will was also content with their season. Like middle school robotics, they had a lot of new members but they only added to the team. As Spencer explains it, “They were knowledgeable and hardworking and always working.”  He believes they will continue to improve and be an amazing team.
