New sixth grader explains why she and her mom chose Tempe Prep

By Peyton Berry

I have been asked by many why I picked Tempe Preparatory Academy out of all the other schools? Well, after touring several other school options with my mom, Tempe Prep quickly became my number one choice for many reasons.

PeytonWhen my mom and I toured TPA, we were “looking for a school that could challenge me academically,” stated my mom, who helped me get into this school. Tempe Prep seemed like the perfect place that would challenge me in more ways than the other schools offered and will prepare me for future academic success.

In addition to having a great academic curriculum, TPA has many different fun things to do after school, such as clubs like Newspaper, Speech and Debate and Robotics, and sports, such as Volleyball, Softball and Basketball. So, if you are not really a sports person, join a club! If you’re not really a club person, join a sport! If you are both, join both! There are just so many things to do to get involved at TPA.

I am looking forward to the clubs and sports but also the additional fun activities such as the Middle School Lock-In, an activity where you go to the school gym and have lots of fun stuff to do like glow in the dark flag tag. Or so I have heard.

A big bonus was when I first saw the TPA campus, a few minutes after we started the tour, the bell rang. I got to see all of the people rushing out of the classrooms and I felt good vibes. “The school had a happy feel when we were there,” said my mom. “The students seemed very happy.” Everyone was just smiling and high-fiving and just having a good time. I felt very confident in the school that I would make lots of friends and have a good school year.

These are just some of the many reasons why I chose to join the Knights at Tempe Prep! And I am really excited to start a new challenging chapter in my life.
