The PSAT is a very important test that can have some serious rewards. Tempe Prep has many seniors this year who scored in the top percentile in the country on their 11th grade PSAT, receiving special recognition for their achievements. All of these students have qualified for many scholarship opportunities because of their hard work.
The first category is the National Hispanic Scholars. These students scored among the top 2.5 percent of Hispanic students. In this category, Tempe Prep congratulates Andre Chavez, Ridley Diez de Medina, and Brooke Kirk. Brooke advises younger students to pace themselves and not overthink when getting ready for the test. She also says, “I studied by taking many practice tests and scoring them. Practice tests are the absolute key to improving your score.” Make sure to take her advice!
The next group of students are the National Merit Commended Scholars. They scored in the top 1 percent of all students nationally. Spencer Bodow, Noah Frazier, and Andre Chavez are recognized in this category. Andre knows what study methods work best for him which is crucial when it comes to preparing for the test. He says, “Since I know that I get easily sidetracked, the most important principle for me is a daily routine that I work myself into naturally, while making sure not to burn myself out.” Studying is a way to build discipline, and hard work pays off as proven by all of these seniors.
Try to find what motivates you and put in the time. These TPA students deserve so much recognition! It is amazing to see how much these students have accomplished. Congratulations!
