Are you interested in music? Space? Reading? If your answer to any of these questions is yes, then there is a club for you to join. TPA has added an assortment of new clubs in the past month and all are looking for new members.

Classic Rock Club

If you are a big music fan, Classic Rock Club is perfect for you. Ninth grader Will Chafey started the club recently and he described it as “a great place for people to discover new music.” Will started Classic Rock Club because of his love for the genre. He said it all began when his dad played The Wall by Pink Floyd. Ever since he has greatly enjoyed listening to classic rock and he hopes that, with the creation of this club, he can share this genre of music with others and help others appreciate “how some older music has a lot of meaning behind it.”

Classic Rock Club meets every Monday and Friday before school in room 202. They choose one album to listen to each week over the two meetings. You can do homework while you listen or just sit and discuss the music. You should come to Classic Rock Club for not only a ton of fun but also to experience new music.

Book Club

If you enjoy reading but you are tired of only reading the school curriculum books, you should join the new Book Club at TPA. Tenth graders Sarah Penry and Eowyn Stojanowski recently created the Book Club to help show TPA students that “reading and talking about books outside of school” is “fun,” says Sarah. Sarah said that she has “not always been interested in reading” but “after getting the chance to read some books outside of school,” she realized that reading is both a fun and rewarding experience.

The Book Club meets Wednesdays after school. At each meeting, club members discuss books which they are currently reading and talk about which books they want to read in the future. The club is always looking for new members so they can find new genres to read. Anyone interested in joining should contact the club advisor, Mrs. Palumbo.
