Originating from the freezing Dairy State of Wisconsin, TPA’s new registrar, Mrs. Rink, is delighted to join the TPA community. Mrs. Rink and her husband have always wanted to move to sunny Arizona. “I love the campus. I love getting to walk outside, even if it’s just to go to the restroom or to walk over to another building. It is not a luxury that you have in Wisconsin,” Mrs. Rink says. According to Mrs. Rink, the main reason she moved to Arizona was for its warm weather, since Wisconsin has “way, way, way too many cloudy days.” She loves being able to drive just 15 minutes to reach a beautiful hiking destination in the desert.
Mrs. Rink attended Milwaukee Area Technical College, where she got a degree in childcare and development. In the past, she has had jobs as a childcare worker, a partner to cardiothoracic surgeons, and for the last 15 years she has been working at a high school in Wisconsin. Throughout her career working at schools, Mrs. Rink has spent lots of time working in student services as well as learning about Infinite Campus and helping her school adjust to the platform.
Although she’s still adjusting to each of her jobs at TPA, Mrs. Rink mainly works to input required state reporting, help teachers use Infinite Campus, and transfer old records to the new school platform. The most challenging part of her job is the complexity of Infinite Campus, which requires her to review information and ensure that she is teaching people to use the program correctly. Thankfully, Mrs. Rink loves learning new things and solving problems!
In working at TPA, Mrs. Rink was most intrigued by the idea of working at a smaller campus, going from a school of 1,300 to 400 students. She says that she loves the feel of a small campus and getting to know families on a closer level: “I think that I get to be able to know families and students in a different realm because they’re more involved in the community.”
One of her main goals in her position is to be able to reach out to students and be there for them whenever they need her. Through her work in student services, she has learned the importance of talking to students. “I’m here to listen,” she says. Mrs. Rink welcomes students to stop by her office any time for a chat! Without question, she is a great addition to the TPA community and we are lucky to have her here!
