Spencer Bodow is currently studying in London for his freshman year at Villanova University. While attending a student information fair at his school, Spencer visited the Office of Education Abroad’s tent and he learned about a program where he could study in London for the duration of the spring semester.
Spencer graduated from Tempe Prep last year and he attends Villanova, in Pennsylvania. He has been in London since Jan. 24 and is taking classes while working in marketing and communications at West Ham United Foundation. Because the foundation saw Spencer’s involvement in the newspaper club at TPA, West Ham United Foundation has given him article assignments to write about its fundraisers.
Spencer was very enthusiastic when he received this opportunity. He said in an email, “It allowed me to live and study in a city that I have been dying to visit for the longest time.” He wanted to study abroad early so he could join more clubs and be more involved on campus without having to leave for a semester later in college. The program also will give him an internship opportunity.
London has 32 boroughs and each part of the city has something unique to offer. Spencer loves to find the little things that make every place memorable, including the museums of Chelsea, the street markets of Camden, or the theater district of Soho. Spencer said, “London is even better than I could’ve imagined.”
