Football

Football has nine  games this season and has already won their first. On Aug. 26, the Knights beat Mohave Accelerated Learning Center, last year’s fourth  seed, in a shutout, 18-0. Their second game was unfortunately canceled against Cibecue High School, so their first official home game is this Friday, Sept. 9th against Anthem Prep at the Chandler Prep field.

Cheer

Cheer practices started this summer and the team has been working hard to perform their best during games and the upcoming Homecoming game. Though their first game was canceled, the team is  excited for the next one on Sept. 9. Captain and senior Cami Wisneski says, “I’m so excited to improve and perform as a team this cheer season! I hope to see a lot of support and school spirit this year!”

Volleyball

The girls’ volleyball season has begun and both the JV and Varsity teams have already played two games. JV won both of their games against Arete Prep and Rancho Solano and the Varsity  started the season off with a win against Arete Prep. Though they lost their last game to Rancho Solano, they have high hopes for the season. JV and Varsity’s next games are on Friday, Sept. 9 against Scottsdale Prep.

Cross Country

Even in this over a hundred degree heat, the high school cross country team has been working hard to get some miles in. On average the team runs three to five  miles a day to prepare for their first meet on Saturday, Sept. 10.

 Swim

On Thursday, Sept. 1, the swim team began  their season with their first meet at Chandler High. They have  nine more meets to go, four  being invitationals. The team  cannot wait to improve their times and have fun. Captain Naomi Palmer says, “I’m excited to finish my last swim season after 7 years and have a good last one with an amazing team.”
