Ever wonder what it’s like to hang out with your classmates outside of school and without uniforms? On Tuesday, Sept. 27 at the TPA gym, middle school students engaged in various team activities during the annual Middle School Lock-In. Organized by Mr. Lambros, the lock-in kicked off with tricycle races. Afterwards, the students enjoyed pizza with their friends before playing big beach volleyball, dodgeball and “Capture-the-Flag” to conclude the team activities for the night. Among all the fun events, eighth-grader Lilly Sabo says, “I think my favorite activity was capture the flag. Each team had different colored glow sticks that lit up in the dark.”Later that evening, students put on their pajamas and set up sleeping bags to settle down and watch the movie,“Diary Of a Wimpy Kid.” The TPA students laughed and related to middle-schooler and main character Greg Heffley. The next morning, the students woke up to pancakes and bacon and were picked up shortly after.
Although this event was mainly planned to engage the middle students, it also included A high school volunteers. Senior Connar Clark said,“This year we had another great lock in…I’m so glad everyone had such a great time!”
Run by Mr. Lambros for the past 5 years, the Middle School Lock-In is a great way for students to interact with one another in an enjoyable environment outside of the classroom.
