Cozy pajamas? Cornhole? Hot cocoa? The Sadie Hawkins dance, nicknamed “Sleighdies” this year, was a fun winter event for high school students to enjoy. With fun music, team games such as cornhole and winter-themed decorations, including a star show projection on the ceiling, attendees enjoyed the winter wonderland ambiance of the dance. Being one of the less-attended student events, Sadie’s is a casual dance and this year’s PJ theme allowed students to come in comfy clothes while they danced, chatted and ate with other guests.
Sophomore Camille Snyder, whom the Student Life Committee delegated to organize the dance, partnered with sophomore Sara Salehi and the two managed several responsibilities. Sara says her duties included: “coming up with the theme, picking out decorations, and publiciz(ing the dance) by making a poster and having (Mr.) Lambros add it to the weekly announcements.” Despite weather difficulties with the rain, Camille says the dance turned out better than expected and she adds that it was“really fun to see our winter wonderland come to light.”
The dance also included baked treats from TPA parents and families. These fun-filled Student Life events would not be possible without the support and help of these dedicated parents.
Be on the lookout for future Student Life events in the second semester!
