TikTok’s time has not run out yet!

What happened to TikTok recently? The TikTok ban was due to security threats. It did not last long because of our new president.

The TikTok ban was caused by members of the U.S. senate who said it was a national security threat because it is owned by China and had access to citizens’ information. The ban was only in the United States. It began on January 19th, but it ended the next day because President Donald J. Trump went into office and put a 75-day moratorium on the ban.

The TikTok ban scared many kids. The ban shocked them because their most-used website was going to be gone, and they would not have their “15 minutes of fame”.

Most adults thought it was going to be good for their kids because children may have been addicted to it. Adults might have thought that the ban would help kids to stay more focused in school.

Parents may not like TikTok for their children because they have seen behavior changes. Scientists say that the more time kids spend on TikTok, the more likely they are going to struggle with focus, memory and even mental health issues like anxiety and depression.

What app would you use if TikTok did get banned? People were already going to an app called Rednote. Rednote is an app owned by China and is their version of Instagram.
